Winter in July is traditionally hosted by NASA Mid South at Barber Motorsports Park. But this year, due to scheduling and construction at Barber, it was held in my backyard at Memphis Motorsports Park. It was hot, humid and about what you would expect in the south during July.
I finished first in class during all three races yielding my first ‘Hat Trick’. Woohoo. But due to retirements and differing paces, the vids aren’t particularly exciting this time. I did however get to use my new Garmin VIRB 360 camera so you can view the race in … 360. I also found it pretty awesome to watch in a VR headset as well.
The following video is from the Aussie Pursuit race from Sunday. I set out to run a fast yet maintainable lap during the race to reel in the competition as tire management is an issue during this race. Overall, I’m really happy with the result as I ran the fastest lap consistently throughout the entire race while keeping the tires happy. Again, not the most exciting race, but a good example of a fast and consistent lap at Memphis International Raceway in 944spec.
Make sure to turn the quality up and enjoy!
